Natural History Museum’s Friday Night Lights Offers Longer Hours & Special Programming

Fri 10/21-12/9 @ 5-8PM

This week, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History launches its Friday Night Lights series.  The museum will be open until 8pm on these nights, with special programs, including presentations, gallery talks conversations with curators and special guests, up-close looks at the animals from its Perkins Wildlife Center and, from October 21-November 4, access to the Ralph Mueller Observatory, weather permitting.

For the first week, Fri 10.21, the special guest is Ohio author/paper engineer Merrill Rainey, author of Roar! I’m a Dinosaur, who’ll conduct a paper toy dinosaur workshop so adults can re-live their childhood fascination with dinosaurs — or maybe they never got over them! His book will be on sale at the event.

Also, the museum’s Assistant Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology Dr. Caitlin Colleary will give a gallery talk on fossils found in the Cleveland area and museum scientists Dr. Mike Donovan and Amanda McGee will show off items in the museum’s paleontology collection.

The events feature a cash bar. Future dates are October 28, November 4, 18 and 25, and December 2,9 and 16.

11/18 & 12/2: Southern Tier

11/25 & 12/16: Western Reserve Distillers

12/9: Cleveland Whiskey
