We recently saw a cartoon we loved. It said “If a black cat crosses your path …. Pet it!” But we think this applies to any type of cat.
So while the Lake Humane Society is hosting its 11th Annual Black Cat Ball this week, it will also benefit tabbies and calicos, torties and Siamese, tuxedos and Persians, and any other type of cat in need that comes their way. Dogs as well!
Taking place at the Tall Oaks Event Complex in Kirtland, the benefit party will offer a plated dinner, desserts, open bars, dancing, costume contests, a wine pull, and raffles of all sorts, including barrel of booze and lottery tree raffles, sports memorabilia, vacations, salon packages and more.
And while costumes aren’t required, if you come up with something creative, you’ve got the chance to win in categories such as best group/duo costume, best male costume, best female costume, bet animal/pet costume, most original/homemade and creepiest/scariest (to us that would be somebody who doesn’t like animals!)
