Hale Farm After Dark Offers a Look at 19th-Century Spiritualist Traditions

Thu 10/20 @ 5-10PM

Hale Farm & Village in Bath present a seasonally themed evening called “Hale Farm After Dark: Speaking from the Grave.”

In keeping with Hale Farm’s mission of recreating the buildings, lifestyle and crafts of Ohio’s 19th-century pioneers, it will focus on some of the spiritualist traditions that were wildly popular during that era. There’ll be a workshop on communicating with the dead through pendulums and a live demonstration of spirit photography. And you can see a display of 19th-century mourning jewelry and antique spirit board from the collections of the Western Reserve Historical Society and the Cummings Center for Psychology. Visitors can also purchase a reading with a medium or a tintype portrait.
