Folk Artist Tells Haunted Tales & Sings Spooky Songs of the Great Lakes

Fri 10/28 & Sat 10/29 @ 8PM

It doesn’t have to be Halloween for audiences to appreciate spooky stories — witness all the “Haunted Ohio” and “Supernatural Tales of the Great Lakes” books that seem to be constantly coming out.

But certainly, Halloween is a holiday that smokes the out. Acoustic musician/storyteller Lee Murdock is known as a premiere performer of songs and stories about haunted ships, shipwrecks and lighthouses on the Great Lakes, as well as the lives of the working people around them. With his six- and 12-string guitars and folk influences including blues, ragtime and Celtic music, Murdock performs a mix of traditional tunes and original songs.

“I’m interested in trying to find the life in these songs; in making music that’s exciting to people today,” says Murdock.  Hell perform at Stocker Arts Center’s appropriately intimate Cirigliano Studio Theatre as part of its Studio Sessions series.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for LCCC students with ID and 18 and under. Get them here.
