78th Street Studios’ Third Friday Buzzes with Activity

Painting by Justin Brennan

Fri 10/21 @ 5-9PM

Third Friday at 78th Street Studios always seems to get livelier as temperatures get cooler. And this month there’s a lot going on, with new and continuing shows, guest artisans in the RAMP level and first floor event spaces, and musicians performing throughout the building.

You won’t want to miss checking out the work of the late artist John Carlson, on view at HEDGE Gallery and ARTNeo. Celebrate the life and work of the late Cleveland artist Stephen Kasner, whose work could be simultaneously macabre and lovely, at 1300 Gallery, in view only this weekend. Check out the closing of Karicturez: Works by Billy Naininger at E11even2 gallery. Visit artist Garrett Weider for the grand opening of his new studio in Site 22 on the RAMP level. Go up to the top floor, go through Survival Kit Gallery and go all the way back to a door in the far left corner to see painter Justin Brennan in his little studio space (It’s his cat painting up above.) There are always doors open and friendly artists willing to chat with you about their work.

Need fuel? As usual nearby Gordon Square eatery Local West will be offering food at it first-floor sandwich shop and downstairs on the RAMP level, adult drinks will be available from BARneo, with sales benefiting the museum ARTneo.

Third Friday is free and open to all including well-behaved children and pets, and registration is no longer necessary.
