Bike Cleveland, the nonprofit dedicated to advocating for bicyclists and transportation infrastructure that’s friendly to more than just cars, also offers copious opportunities for cyclists to get together and ride.
One of those is its fundraiser, Bikes N’Brew, an unsupported bicycle tour that takes riders through some of the area’s constantly growing number of breweries on 20-, 40- and 60-mile rides. “Unsupported” means that while they’ll provide maps an suggested routes, you’re basically on your own as far as how you ride, how you go and how many stops you make.
Each registered participant will get a passport to be validated at each brewery for a discount to be used on a future visit within six months. There’s also a post-ride party from 3:30-5pm at host Forest City Brewery (where check-in and finish take place) with food provided by Sainato’s Italian Restaurant and a free pint for each registered rider. Because of the nature of the event, it’s 21 and over only.
Check starts at 9:30am for 40- and 60-mile riders; 10:30am for 20-mile riders. All riders should be rolling no later than 11:45. Registration is $40 in advance, $50 onsite if not sold out.
