Have a Taste of Egypt at the Coptic Church Food Festival

Fri 9/23 @ noon-8PM

Sat 9/24 @ noon-8PM

Sun 9/25 @ noon-6PM

The church festival season continues until early October, a great chance to try out a variety of ethnic cuisines.

Next up it the 6th annual Egyptian Food Festival at Sts. Peter & George Orthodox Church in Westlake. It’s a variant of the Eastern Orthodox Church, celebrated by people descended from Copts, who inhabited Egypt and northern Africa.

So naturally the food is similar to the type of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food we’ve become increasingly familiar with. Choose from gyro, moussaka, falafel sandwich, grape leaves, lamb shanks, tabouli, macaroni Béchamel, spinach, cheese and meat pies, and a variety of desserts including baklava with nuts, petit fours, mango mousse, Egyptian rice pudding and more. Trays and platters are available for take-home meals as well.

You can order from your car and have the food brought to you or order online in advance and pick it up. Go here for the full menu and to order.
