Armenian Festival Offers Lots of Food and Cultural Activities

Fri 9/16 @ 4-9PM

Sat 9/17 @ noon-9PM

Fall is a busy time for ethnic church festivals, and if they’re your thing, you’ll want to head over to St. Gregory of Narek Armenian Church in Richmond Heights this weekend for the annual Armenian Festival, a two-day event which will be all outdoors due to lingering COVID anxiety (and hopefully an opportunity to enjoy some nice fall weather, fingers crossed.)

The main draw, as always, is the food, which will be familiar to most people who enjoy Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine: shish kabob, rice pilaf, vegetarian options, an extremely extensive list of pastry choices — check out the full menu on their website and plan ahead. (You can also order online and pick up your food.)

Armenian music will set the mood for the eating, kids’ activities, including games and crafts, displays on Armenian culture and history, and church tours. There’s also a souvenir shop featuring authentic Armenian items. Admission and parking are both free.
