Akron Art Museum Kids’ Maker Fair Showcases Youthful Creativity

Sun 9/18 @11AM-2PM

With the number of artisan/maker fairs that have cropped up around northeast Ohio in the last decade, it’s probably a good idea to start them young. So the Akron Art Museum is devoting its next Family Day to a Kids Maker Fair.

The event will feature crafters 18 and under who want to sell what they make and learn the ropes of becoming an entrepreneur. It’ll offer the opportunity to shop from other kids, some with established businesses and some just starting out. Kids can also bring their artwork to share and see what other kids are making and share their talents and ideas (or pick up some ideas) at “art creation stations,” where they can try pottery, sewing, soldering, and power tool construction.

The event also features music and games and a travel-themed art installation in the garden created by Akron Public Schools kids.

The event is free; registration is recommended. Just come down and bask in the youthful creativity.
