Two Installation Artists Talk About their Work at The Sculpture Center

Sat 9/3 @ 11AM-12:30PM

New York-based artist Abigail DeVille, whose work is currently on display at The Sculpture Center in University Circle as part of the FRONT International Triennial, uses her multimedia installations to share stories, mostly about the Black experience in America. In addition to her show at The Sculpture Center, in view through October 2, some of her work is on display outdoors in the Fairfax neighborhood, created with input from people living there.

Cleveland native Julie Schenkelberg also creates large-scale installations to unearth past histories. She uses materials such as furniture, dishware, textiles and marble, and adds to them and manipulates them to explore ideas about domesticity and decay. She’ll have a show, called Currant, at The Sculpture Center October 21 through December 16, 2022.

Both artists will be doing an artist talk, hosted by Jeremy Johnson of the Assembly for the Arts. It takes place at The Sculpture Center and it’s free. Go here to register.
