Sun 8/7 @ 10AM-4PM
There’s a weekend in August when Geauga County comes alive with arts-related activity, with two festivals running simultaneously: Geauga Park District’s Nature & Art Fest at the West Woods, and the Chardon Square Association’s Chardon Arts Festival, now in its 41st year.
Both festivals feature an array of area artists and craftspeople in a variety of media including painting, photography, encaustic, pottery, textiles, stained glass, leather, wood carving, weaving, copper, jewelry and stone cutting, among others. The Nature & Arts Fest will have a special focus on art inspired by nature and also feature nature exhibits, hikes and live animals outdoors while the artist/vendors inside sell work influenced by the outside.
The juried Chardon Square Arts Festival takes place outdoors and features more than 100 artists. You say you want to go to both? You can! They’re close by, and they’re both free. Note that the Chardon event closes an hour later, at 5pm.
