Fri 8/5-Sat 8/6 @ 7PM
The long-running Tremont Arts in August series is back, where you can lug your chair or blanket and snacks to Lincoln Park to enjoy a sampling of Cleveland’s cultural offerings every weekend throughout the month.
It kicks off on Friday August 5 with a performance from Cleveland Public Theater’s STEP program in which a troupe of urban teenagers write, produce and perform a production based on their own experiences and ideas. This year’s The Myth of Me revolves around a young girl who finds her power in the midst of a seemingly hopeless situation. On Saturday August 6, The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival will present its current production, Moliere’s The Learned Ladies.
Next weekend is all about dance, with Inlet Dance on Friday August 12 and Verb Ballets on Saturday August 13. The following weekend, it’s music, with indie rock with Church of Starry Wisdom on Friday August 19 and Papo Ruiz Y La Dulzura De La Salsa on Saturday August 20: bring your dancing shoes for that one! The final weekend features David Hakim on Friday August 26 and Arts Renaissance Tremont presenting the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra on — take note — Sunday August 28. All performances are at 7 pm and all are free.
