Put-in-Bay has a reputation as a party spot but if you go on a weekday, it’s peaceful. There’s plenty to explore including South Bass Island State Park, the Chocolate Museum, the Perry International Peace Memorial, the National Park Service Visitor Center, Scheef East Point Nature Preserve, the Aquatic Center, the Lake Erie Islands Wildlife and Nature Center, the Carousel, Perrys and Crystal Caves, and our favorite place on the island, the Butterfly House at the Perry’s Cave Family Fun Center.
It was a very hot (although the lake breezes made it cooler) but fun day.
