Abattoir Gallery Opens Show of Work by Sculptor Lauren Yeager

Sat 9/3 @ 5-7PM

Abattoir Gallery, a contemporary art space in the Hildebrandt Building in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood, shows both the cream of northeast Ohio artists and artists from around the country.

Starting this week, they’ll be showing one of the former, Lauren Yeager, whose work is becoming well known in this area. (She was chosen as part of the first FRONT International Triennial in 2018.) Her sculptures are build using found objects, such as cooler lids, thermoses, buckets and basketballs, which she combines in multiples to create her works. The up-and-coming artist is a 2009 graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art and the winner of the 2021 Cleveland Arts Prize for emerging artist.

The show opens with a free, public reception Saturday September 3, and will be on view through Saturday October 8. Gallery hours are noon-5pm Thursday through Saturday.
