Taste of Tremont Showcases Foodie Neighborhood

Sun 7/17 @ noon-8PM

As Tremont transitioned from being an artist-friendly neighborhood of funky galleries to being a more upscale area, it attracted a raft of restaurants of all types. So an annual event like Taste of Tremont makes perfect sense; Lakewood and Ohio City may be the only other areas with such a concentration of diverse eateries.

And it’s the neighborhood chefs and establishments that take the spotlight at this street festival, offering their specialties from booths along the neighborhood’s main drag, Professor Avenue. Sample offerings from Fahrenheit, the Spotted Own, Hi and Dry, The Southside, Dante, Butcher & the Brewer, Prosperity, Tandul and the Tremont Taphouse, among others, and make a plan to come back and visit the ones that catch your fancy on another day.

Other neighborhood businesses and organization have booths as well including social services provider Merrick House, clothing boutiques Banyan Tree and Evie Lou, Urban Planting, Cleveland Henna, Tremont Functional Rehab & Health, and Coleen’s Candles and Gifts.

Yes, there’s live music too at the Butcher & the Brewer’s Stage in the Beer Garden, with rapper Jul Big Green at noon; noisemakers Duo Decibel System at 3pm, and rockers Big Ship at 5pm.

Admission is free so you can spend your money on food, drink and other items.
