Cleveland’s 10K Movement is an organization dedicated to promoting hip hop/street-style dance through classes, workshops and special events. One of the latter takes place this weekend when 10K presents its second annual Lords of the Land (LOTL) Hip Hop & Street Dance Festival, taking place over two days in University Circle.
On Friday July 29 at Case Western Reserve University’s Tinkham Veale Center, there’ll be a morning and afternoon filled with workshops on various styles of street dance, followed in the evening by competition preliminaries, round of 32 and round of 16. There’ll be food trucks and local vendors as well.
Then, on Saturday July 30, the action moves down the block to Severance Music Center. No, the Cleveland Orchestra won’t be playing. Instead there’ll be a variety of showcase dance performances, as well as the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals of the dance tournament. Go here for tickets and workshop registration.
