Slow Roll Cleveland, which typically takes riders of all ages & skill levels on a Monday evening bike through different Cleveland neighborhoods all summer long, has something different for cyclists this week.
It’s joined with the concurrently running FRONT International Triennial and the CAN Triennial, focused on local artists, not “Not Your Average Slow Roll: FRONT & CAN Edition.”
Riders will meet at the Fairfax Rec Center at 2335 East 82nd Street starting at 6pm for a 6:30 rollout scheduled to return there at 9. The 11-mile ride will take riders to the locations in Fairfax, St. Clair/Superior and University Circle where various artworks are installed, and artists or FRONT/CAN staff will be on hand to talk about the work. Unlike the usual Slow Roll Ride, there’ll be multiple stops including possibly stopping to patronize local businesses for a snack or drink.
It’s free to participate, and the pace will be comfortable enough for less experienced bike riders. No registration is required. Slow Roll is skipping its August 1 date; its next regular ride is August 8, rolling out from Willard Park (the Free Stamp) downtown.
