Riverdog Barn Presents Female Bluegrass/Oldtime Trio Blue Ridge Girls

Fri 7/15 @ 7:30PM

Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/folk dancer Martha Spencer hails from Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains where she grew up in a musical family where she learned to play all the traditional instruments — guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, fiddle dulcimer — and flatfoot/clog dancing as well. Needless to say, a career as a working, touring musician came naturally.

Her trio, the Blue Ridge Girls, plays that old-time/bluegrass/country music she grew up with, incorporating original songs with beloved traditional tunes. Her cohorts, Jamie Collins and Brett Morris, share her background of coming from musical families steeping in Blue Ridge Mountain sounds they have a passion to keep alive. Their debut album, Wonderland, recorded last year at Muscle Shoals, is scheduled for release this year.

They’ll perform at Riverdog Barn in Lorain County. Gates are at 6pm for the 7:30 show which gives you time to enjoy the picnic and drinks you’re welcome to bring in. Tickets are $22. Reserve them here.
