Sat 6/18 @ 2-9PM
While the big Juneteenth Freedom Fest is going on over at Mall C, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will be having its own free Juneteenth event a couple of blocks away outdoors on its plaza, spotlighting Black culture, music and artists.
It starts at 2pm with a performance by 10K Dance Movement, an ensemble that focuses on street-style dancing. At 3pm Charity Barnes, a neo-soul singer and songwriter takes the stage, followed at 4pm by Cleveland’s Rainey Institute Interactive Bucket Drum Demonstration. Versatile, eclectic Akron musician Jul Big Green will do a DJ set at 5pm. Djapo Cultural Arts Institute with Weedie Braimah & The Hands of Time, an intergeneration ensemble that mixes dancing, traditional drumming and costumes, will finish things off starting at 8pm.
The Juneteenth festival is free and open to all.
