Coventry Village was blocked to traffic for a street fair for the first time in more than a decade to celebrate Juneteenth. Instead the street was filled with pedestrians, cyclists, dogs, Black entrepreneurs and artists (some of them making art live on the spot), kids from a local dance academy strutting their stuff, and a stage featuring rappers, musicians, DJs and speeches from local activists. There was free food, a roller rink and yes, face painting. The kids would revolt if there wasn’t face painting!
