Ohio Scottish Games Fill Berea Fairgrounds with Contests & Revelry

Fri 6/24-Sat 6/25

Whether you have any Scottish blood in you or not, you’re welcome at the Ohio Scottish Games, taking place at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea this weekend.

There you can take in a wide variety of competitions, both athletic, musical and more including fencing, archery, ancient stone lifting, and armored combat. For those who don’t like violence, there are fiddle, harp, pipe & drums and poetry contests as well. And you can test your own skills in axe throwing (which is the latest trendy participation sport ), keg toss and haggis throw.

There’s also food and merch vendors, live bands, whiskey tasting, British cars and motorcycles to ogle, kids’ games, music workshops (bagpipes, snare drums, harp, fiddle and highland dance) and dogs: border collie demonstrations, Irish wolfhounds and Scottish terriers.
