Cleveland Ballet has just announced its full 2022-2023 season, giving area dance lovers an idea of what they can look forward to, with two beloved classics and a program of company debuts.
The season opens October 21-22 with two performances of the company’s version of the ballet repertoire staple, Swan Lake, as choreographed by Cleveland Ballet’s artistic director Gladisa Guadalupe.
That’s followed in December by — just take a guess! Yes, The Nutcracker! The company will do seven performances, giving every parent and grandparent the chance to take their aspiring ballerina daughter/granddaughter out for a Christmas treat.
Finally, for their spring performances on April 21-22, 2023 , they’ll perform George Balanchine’s Serenade, a landmark ballet that was the first original one he created in America in 1935, performed to music by Tchaikovsky. It will be on a double bill with a new ballet called Spring Collection, danced to new music by Israeli composer Anna Segal.
All performances take place at Playhouse Square’s Connor Palace Theatre. For ticket information go here.
