4 Miles 4 Water Raises Money for Clean Water Projects & Education

Sat 6/11 @ 8:30AM

Cleveland nonprofit Drink Local Drink Tap is here to remind us how fortunate we are to have a source of clean drinking water in our literal backyard. It not only works to keep it that way but has also established partnerships in Uganda to expand access to clean water there. It’s established education programs to make people — especially young people — more aware of the importance of water access.

One of its main fundraisers is its annual 4 Mile 4 Water Run and Walk, now in its ninth year. Taking place on the East Bank of the Flats, the course runs along the river, allowing participants to enjoy some of the area’s most beautiful scenery while raising money and reflecting on the lavish resources at our disposal. Following the run there’ll be an awards ceremony, activities and food & refreshments available for purchase

The event is both family- and dog-friendly (Dogs must be leashed). It’s $30 for adults to register, which will provide a person with clean water for life. Those under 18 are just $15. Arrive at 8:30am to check in. There’s a stretching session at 9:15, with runners taking off at 9:30 and walkers at 9:35. Post run/walk activities take place from 11am-noon at Rumrunners. Sign up here.
