Slow Roll Cleveland Kicks Off Season With Short Ride and Party

Tue 5/17 @ 6:30-9:30PM

The weather is warming and it’s time to get that bicycle out of the garage and get it tuned up, assuming you’re not one of those hardcore cyclists who rides all winter in the snow.

But if you’re not, then the Slow Roll Cleveland rides, which resume this month, are more your speed. They invite riders of all ages and levels of experience to take a comfortably paced ride through one of Cleveland’s neighborhoods each week, often followed by a social gathering. And this week, Slow Roll is hosting a kickoff party, and short ride to launch its 2022 season.

Join them at Forest City Brewery in Ohio City for a short (one-hour) ride, followed by its first-ever annual meeting (and party!) since it transitioned to being a nonprofit organization. There’ll be free tacos, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase, and pocket cards with the full season schedule. You’ll get to hear from the organizers about the plans for the season and they’ll answer any questions you have. After that you can mingle with other bike people.

They’re asking for a $20 donation to help fund season operating costs, such as supplies and permits, but they’re saying, “We won’t turn anyone away.” The rides are free.
