“Sumer is icumen in,” is they said in medieval days. And one sure sign is the reopening of the various Cleveland Metroparks restaurants, cafes and other concessions which serve hikes, joggers, cyclists and strollers who come out to enjoy the park.
First out of the gate is E. 55th on the Lake, the restaurant at the East 55th Street Marina, which begins Thursday-Sunday hours of noon-9pm on Thursday May 12. Merwin’s Wharf, its other full-service restaurant, located on the bank of the Cuyahoga, has already been open during the winter, but it will expand its hours starting Tuesday May 17, serving Tuesday-Thursday 4-8pm and Fridays and Saturdays @ noon-9pm.
In addition, the Edgewater Beach House opens Saturday May 14, with hours Wednesday-Sunday @ noon-9pm; The Noshery opens Wednesday May 18 with Wednesday-Sunday hours, noon-9pm; and the Emerald Necklace Marina Café and Wildwood Marina Concession both open May 25. Other amenities and park concessions such as beach concessions, watercraft rentals, the Flats Water Taxi and the Cleveland Public Library Box at Edgewater Beach are all expected to start Memorial Day weekend.
