Since 2009, the all-volunteer Waterloo Alley Cat Project has been taking care of feral and abandoned cats in the Waterloo Arts District of North Collinwood, giving them food, safe shelter and medical care, while controlling population size by neutering and spaying. They’ve “fixed” more than 300 cats in that time! And one of the original cats they neutered, Dorian, is still will them at the approximate age of 15.
WACP hosts an annual fundraiser so animal lovers can help their colonies of felines. This year’s raffle/fundraiser party takes play on Saturday May 14, with the drawing taking place at the Millard Fillmore Presidential Library (a bar) on Waterloo Road. The grand prize is $1000, with a second place prize of $200. They’ll have gift baskets for the 3rd-5th place winners. You don’t need to be there to win.
A limited number of tickets will be sold and they’re available now. Go to waterlooalleycatproject purchase them. Every penny goes to care of the cats.
