Rust Belt Riders Founder Talks About Their Contribution to the “Circular Economy”

Thu 4/7 @ 7PM

Seven years ago, when Daniel Brown co-founded Rust Belt Riders, he and his partner Michael Robinson picked up food scraps from local restaurants on their bikes and composted them into growing material. Now the operation has more than 20 employees and creates tons of soil from materials that would’ve otherwise been discarded.  You may have seen their trucks around town; bikes just aren’t practical anymore on that scale.

Ohio City Inc and the Community of St. Peter are co-hosting an online event called “An Inconvenient Story of Food Waste,” where Brown will talk about his company’s contribution to the so-called “circular economy” which advocates for re-use of materials of all types in order to keep them out of landfills.

It’s free. Go here to register.
