Mon 4/11 @ 7:30PM

Local chamber ensemble Les Delices has been presenting a twice-a-month online series for the past two years called SalonEra, offering themed programs that combine performances with conversation about music.

For this week’s episode titled “Secret Garden,” musicologist Dr. Francesca Brittan, an associate professor of music at Case Western Reserve University, is back as guest curator for a program that’s centered on the art song, looking at the Romantic era’s romance with this music form. Performers include tenor Nicholas Phan and pianist Corey Jamason (San Francisco), soprano Hannah De Priest and fortepianist Michael Pecak (Chicago), and baritone Jonathon Adams and fortepianist Gili Loftus (Montreal). The music will be interspersed with discussion of romantic pantheism, vitalism, magic and histories of technology, enhanced by images of paintings and botanical illustrations.

It’s a $10 suggested donation. Go here to register.
