The nonprofit Euclid Beach Cat Project has been caring for feral and abandoned cats in and around the at the Euclid Beach Mobile Home Park for more than a decade, socializing and adopting out cats who are friendly (often former pets who have been dumped there), neutering and feeding the ferals.
All of that costs money in the best of times, but now they’ve been told that their outdoor cats need to vacate the property where they’ve been living, which has been purchased by the Western Reserve Land Conservancy. So the dozens of cats still there need new homes.
To help fund the work, the Euclid Beach Cat Project is hosting its first Meowsquerade Ball fundraiser at Nuevo Modern Mexican’s Lakeside event Space (located behind the Rock Hall.) There’ll be appetizers and a cash bar, DJ music and dancing, raffles and lots of cat lovers to socialize with. Festival-style masks (see above) and creative costumes are encouraged. All proceeds will go to the group’s adoption and TNR efforts.
Tickets are $40 for one, $70 for a pair. And you can purchase 50/50 raffle tickets online if you can’t make it but want to help the kitties.
