Ramp Up Peninsula is a festival that celebrates the arrives of these onion-like wild plants, typically one of the first locally grown items to show up in spring farmers markets each year.
This year, instead of one big all-day festival, it’s turned into Ramp Up Grab-n-Go 2022, with ramp vendors set up in the GAR Hall parking lot from 11am-4pm three successive Saturdays starting April 23. You’ll find freshly harvested ramps, along with prepared foods featuring ramps: sauces, seasonings, breads, pierogis, soups and more. There’ll be some limited picnic-style seating.
Purplebrown Farm Store in Peninsula will also have ramp products and vendors and other businesses in downtown Peninsula will be hosting special sales as well & other events as well. On Saturday April 30, Jon Mosey will be performing at the River Light Gallery from 1-3pm.
