The Perkins Wildlife Center at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History is home to critters of all sorts, mostly rescues who for one reason or another, couldn’t be returned to the wild.
We were devastated to learn of the recent unexpected death of Hobbes, one of their three river otters, during a routine veterinary procedure. But we’re happy to be celebrating bobcats Bob and Bitty’s 20th birthday bash. Both were orphans who weren’t able to be released and found a home at the Perkins Wildlife Center. Learn more about them here.
The day-long celebration, included with regular admission, will feature family-friendly activities such as making animal-enrichment and learning encounters at the wildlife center (no, you don’t get to hold them!) At 1pm Lake Metroparks Wildlife Center’s Wildlife Care Manager Tammy O’Neil will speak in the Murch Auditorium about how bobcat orphans are rehabilitated and (hopefully) returned to the wild.
You can also help celebrate by donating items on CMNH’s Wildlife Wishlist here.
