Awards Ceremony Honors Winners of Maltz Museum Stop the Hate Contest

Wed 4/13 @ 7PM

The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage’s Stop the Hate essay and songwriter contests, Youth Speak Out and Youth Sing Out, annually award $100,000 in scholarships and prizes to students, teachers and schools to address issues of bias, prejudice, and discrimination and explore potential solutions, needed now more than ever.

They’ve just wrapped up their 14th year and announced the finalists in three categories, Youth Speak Out in 11th & 12th grades and in 6-10th grades, and the Youth Sing Out classroom-based project.

The awards ceremony will again be held on Zoom, where you can meet the finalists and the Stop the Hate Teachers of the Year, hear essays written by 11th & 12th grade finalists (all from public schools!) competing for a $20,000 college scholarship, and learn about the classes (also all in public schools, including Max Hayes, Glenville, Shaw and Beachwood high schools) which wrote the winning Youth Sing Out song lyrics.

It’s free and open to all but advance registration is required. Go here.
