PHOTOSTREAM: Cleveland Seed Bank Winter Seed Swap by Anastasia Pantsios

03.05.2022 Seed Swap

Sat 3/5

Urban farmers, community gardeners and home growers gathered at St. Patrick’s in Ohio City for the Cleveland Seed Bank’s first seed swap in two years, to gather up material for the upcoming growing season.

As usual, seeds were grouped according to category: greens, cucurbits (squashes, melons, cucumbers), nightshades (tomatoes, eggplants, peppers), flowers, herbs, root crops, native plants. There were tables for community-donated seeds and other materials (such as sourdough starters), along with seed packets provided by the Cleveland Seed Bank.

Gardening/farming related businesses such as Rust Belt Riders composters and organizations with growing and environmental information such as the Cleveland Public Library were also on hand.
