Akron’s Wild Oscar’s Hosts Krackpots of Comedy

Wed 2/23 @ 7:30PM

The new cabaret-style stage at the Akron Civic Theatre, Wild Oscar’s, gives the venue the opportunity to present the types of shows best enjoyed in a smaller, more intimate space. That includes Krackpots of Comedy, evenings featuring both local and national performers.

The upcoming showcase will be hosted by Cleveland comedian Rob Coleman, who’s been performing around the northeast Ohio comedy scene since 2000.

He’ll be joined by headliner Steve Sabo, who says he tours 52 weeks a year (!), performing in virtually every kind of setting from the usual comedy clubs to military bases, corporate events, restaurants, cruise ships, colleges and casinos.  He’s also played the lead in a low-budget horror film and entertained the troops in Iraq and Kuwait. Needless to say, his shows vary in content and style depending on the audience.

The feature performer is Michigan native G. W. Nell, now an Akron resident who describes herself as “an award-winning professional snacker” whose act consists of true stories from her own life as the mother of two sons.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance or at the door. Go here or call the box office at 330-253-2488.
