Celebrate the Year of the Tiger Lunar New Year at Asia Plaza

Sat 2/5 @ 10AM-3PM

We’re really excited about the Chinese Lunar New Year this year because it’s the Year of the Tiger and we just love these lithe and lovely striped beasts.

To celebrate, come on down to Asia Plaza at East 30th and Payne for a day of activities for kids, families and anyone who wants to take in some beautiful performers — and whet their appetite for the Cleveland Asian Festival, which is coming back live May 21-22.

Kids activities with Art Block start at 10pm and go on for the duration of the event. The Shaolin Kung Fu Institute kicks off the performances at 10:15am, followed by Rising Star Acrobatics at 10:30, Kwan Lion Dance at 11, Rosa Lee on the zither-like guzheng at 12:15, Janice Liu on the two-stringed Chinese erhu at 12:30, then Lee and Liu together at 12:45. Polynesian dance ensemble Pacific Paradise Entertainment takes over at 1:30, with Chinese Square Dancing at 2:30 and the Glory Drum Team of Cleveland at 2:45.

Masks are advised and some of the Asia Plaza shops require them. The event is free. Don’t forget to plan some time to have lunch or dinner in one of the area’s multitude of Asian eateries!
