The Beck Center for the Arts and the Baldwin Wallace University Music Theatre Program have once again joined forces for another chapter in their long, fruitful partnership, to present LIZZIE the Musical at the Beck Center, directed by Victoria Bussert who also heads up the BW program.

Yet another modern musical based on some highly improbably material, it revolves around the legendary alleged 19th-century murderer Lizzie Borden (“Lizzie Borden took an axe, gave her mother 40 whacks…”), exploring her background, mindset and possibly motivations. It’s also one of those rare plays featuring an all-female cast, with a four-woman rock ensemble providing the story and music.

The four-week run will feature two alternating casts so that more of the students from this nationally acclaimed program get a chance onstage. It runs Friday-Sunday through February 27, with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:30pm and Sunday shows at 2:30pm
