Cleveland dark gothic/folk/rock ensemble Morticia’s Chair has been making their distinctive music for more than two decades, in the last decade coalescing around the trio of lead vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Mark Kat, bassist Frank Prpic and drummer Michael J. Graehling, playing venues and festivals around the region.
This month, they dropped their seventh album, appropriately titled VII, with a concert at Prpic’s Center for Rock Research, on the Rock Research label. They performed with a cast of friends who contributed to the album, while label mates pianist/singer/songwriter Noon (Erin Kapferer) and bluegrass quartet the Luckey Ones provided opening sets.
