When Bakersfield Tacos, Tequila, and Whiskey closed on West 25th Street, Ohio City residents didn’t have to wait too long before a new upscale Mexican eatery went into the space.
Opened in lake 200 by the owners of Rocky River’s Char Whiskey Bar + Grille, Avo Modern Mexican features burritos, tacos and tortillas with numerous variations in ingredients and flavors, a variety of salsas and fresh avocado/guacamole dishes made fresh to order. A more limited late-night menu is served after 10pm. Menu indicates vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices. Craft cocktails, margaritas, local beers and a small selection of wines enhance the meal.
Avo is open seven days a week at 11am, until 11pm Fridays and Saturdays. It has happy hours 3-6pm daily and drink specials Sunday-Thursday.
