Do you love cats? (We don’t want to hear from you if you don’t!). You probably don’t love them as much as Jessica Manko, whose day job is at a low-cost spay/neuter clinic and whose passion is making sure feral cats are cared for.
Her favorite hangout is the Millard Fillmore Presidential Library, a cozy bar on Waterloo Road. And that’s where she hosts her Meowy Cats’mas parties, a gathering for cat lovers to sit around for several hours, talk about their cats and raise money for Lauren’s City Cats in the Flats (a feral colony she helps feed) and the Waterloo Alley Cat Project, which cares for strays and ferals around North Collinwood.
The event is free to attend; there’ll be snacks, drink specials, raffle baskets to bid on and the White Cat Gift Exchange. If you want to participate in the gift exchange, its $5, plus a wrapped gift with a value of $10-$15. Participants will periodically exchange gifts throughout the night — between sharing the cat photos on their phones.
