Soprano Amanda Powell Shows Her Many Sides at BOP STOP Holiday Show

Sun 12/5 @ 7PM

Soprano Amanda Powell is well known to local classical music audiences from her many performances with baroque orchestra Apollo’s Fire. She’s touring internationally with the ensemble and appeared on several of their recordings including Sephardic Journey, and Christmas on Sugarloaf Mountain.

She’s also an accomplished jazz, folk, blues and global music singer and improviser who’s worked with artists such as Sheila Jordan and Bobby McFerrin.  Her solo album, 2015’s Beyond Boundaries, highlighted all those sides of her vocal talent.

Powell is bringing together some of her equally talented musician friends for an evening at the BOP STOP titled “All Together Now,” which will include holiday songs among all the other genres she’s adept at, storytelling and even sing-alongs. She’ll be backed by an all-star band featuring sax player Howie Smith, pianist Theron Brown, bassist Dave Morgan and percussionist Anthony Taddeo.

Tickets are $20 to join them in person. You can also listen for free on the BOP STOP’s Facebook page, where you can make donations to the band here.
