Sammy DeLeon Sextet Brings Latin Jazz to Ohio City

Fri 11/19 @ 8PM

Here’s something new. No, not a gig by Sammy DeLeon and his band; he’s been livening up stages all over town, post-pandemic, with his exuberant, cant-resist-dancing Latin jazz.

But Ohio City’s Market Garden Brewery hasn’t presented full-band concerts on a regular basis, or actually any basis that we can recall. But this weekend, vocalist/Timbales player DeLeon will be there, joined by his Latin Jaz Setet: his regular collaborator and Cleveland’s #1 Latin jazz pianist Jackie Warren, bassist Elmer Arocho, percussionist Ray Guzman, trumpet player Tommy Lehman and Steve Kortyka on sax.

Market Garden Brewery not only has great house-made beer on tap, it’s also got a full menu of high-quality American bar food. The show is being presented by Jim Wadsworth, who formerly booked all the music at Nighttown in Cleveland Heights, currently closed. Tickets are $15. Get them here.
