The relatively new Kaiser Gallery on the corner of Professor and Jefferson is bringing new life to the gallery scene in a neighborhood that was once known for its galleries, most now gone.

Tanya Kaiser arrived in Cleveland from New York to take a job at Case Western Reserve at the beginning of 2020 and opened the gallery cum cocktail bar in July 2020, bursting with fresh ideas and a strong network of artists. She’s mounted a series of intriguing conceptual shows that people are only now just discovering since she opened mid-pandemic.

The next show is titled Future Resonance, which opens on Friday December 3, but will have its opening reception Saturday December 4 @ 6:30-8pm. The annual art-and-technology show (this is just the second, obviously) looks at how developing technologies can inspire artists to explore new ideas and visions and how technology and art can work hand-in-hand to inspire creativity.

This year’s show focuses on artists who explore the potential in sound and light.

“Technology has become a significant part of our lives — it permeates all aspects of it, from entertainment to medicine,” says the show’s description. “With technology quickly evolving into an essential aspect of our lives, technology is no longer considered a novelty or a luxury. Technology has also increased our appetite for artistry because technology feeds the imagination with its expansive capabilities and unlimited horizons — resulting in ever more ambitious creations that give us elevated perspectives on human achievement.”

Artists in the show include Mike Bruckman, Jeremy Davis, Jeremy Newman, Thea Reid, Ethan SamahaDustin Steuck and Anna Thorne. It runs through Sunday February 6, 2022.
