Thu 11/4-Sun 3/20/22
The 22nd annual Cleveland Jewish Book Festival opens this week, offering a look at 24 different books, both fiction and nonfiction, by Jewish authors and/or reflecting on some aspect of Jewish life, culture or history. They range from historical to cooking to memoirs.
Events are both live & in-person and livestreamed or virtual; most are free and open to the public this year. And all feature a Q&A session to interact with the authors. This year, the events are spread out over a period of months, opening on Thursday November 4 with an event featuring Ira Rosen, with his book Ticking Clock, and concluding with five events in March 2022. Also this week: Ami Aylon, author of Friendly Fire, on Sunday November 7; actress Tovah Feldshuh with her memoir Lilyville on Monday November 8 (she’ll be live at the Mandel JCC with her story of her mother Lily, who strove to be the perfect housewife until her husband’s death liberated her); and playwright Philip Boehm on Tuesday November 9.
The festival is also partnering with Mac’s Backs on Coventry where all featured books can be purchased.
