Sat 10/30 @ 9AM-noon
The Countryside Farmers Market at Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Howe Meadow wraps up this week (it moves indoors to the Old Trail Schoolhouse in November). And it’s going out with a bang, with “Howl-O-Ween at the Market.”
While the market has always designated an hour when dogs are welcome, this week they’ll be welcome for the entire market, and there will be activities designed just for them. For instance, there’ll be a costume contest for dogs and their humans, with judging taking place from 10:30-11am; a $5 donation gets you both entered. The winner gets $25 in market tokens and a Countryside item of their choice. The market will have a seasonally decorated photo booth where you can take a souvenir snap of yourself and your dog in costume. And there’ll be special one-time vendors of pet-related items.
All the market vendors will be hosting trick-or-treat. Chef Vegan Vicki of UrbanSweetness will be leading a cooking demo; there’ll be live music by Rubber City Ukes and a Halloween-themed kids’ activity. Storehouse Tea will be pouring hot cider for visitors. So have some fun while you’re stoking up on those winter squash and root vegetables that the market will have in abundance. (Come to the Old Trail Schoolhouse on November 6 for a squash tasting).
