Arts in August Tremont, the series of free performances taking place in Lincoln Park all month, ranges over all types of music, dance and theater.
This weekend, it’s indy rock, a three-band bill curated by Elizabeth Kelly of The Village Bicycle. Of course, that band, which has been a noisily tuneful mainstay of the loal inde rock scene for more than a decade, is part of the show. They’re joined by eclectic trio the Katy, formed five years ago and fronted by potent vocalist/bassist Cathalyn, a transplant from Memphis. The newest band of the three is Akron’s Church of Starry Wisdom, who describe themselves as a “retro-futuristic goth-classic rock band.” Like the other two bands, it features a woman vocalist upfront.
The show is free; bring a blanket or chair and a snack and pray it doesn’t rain!
