Akron Art Museum August Family Day Is a Whirlwind of Activities

Sun 8/15 @ 11AM-2PM

For its August Family Day, the Akron Art Museum is pulling out all the stops to celebrate the end of summer with a Neighborhood Garden Party that’s packed with more fun, interactive activities than usual.

The Traveling Porch by Akron artist Megan Shane is a mobile installation composed of porch swings, benches and hammocks for visitors to try out while Akron Energy Systems will be providing cooling in case it gets hot outside in the Bud and Susie Rogers Garden. Hands-on activities include a dance class, pottery making, an interactive story walk courtesy of the Akron-Summit County Public Library, and jumping rope, led by the Jammin Jumpers Jump Rope Team. Music will be provided by local singer/songwriter/guitarist Chris Miller and hell probably encourage you to move around and sing along.

And it’s all free — no registration is required.
