Although it looks like the really big parades are on hold for another year, University Heights went through with its modestly sized Independence Day parade (one of the few held in the area). It wended its way through a mile & a half of neighborhoods where eager kids chased candy and bystanders sported red, white and blue gear, ending up at John Carroll University. Most of the delegations were community-oriented (the CH-UH Library, a group of high school students from Heights High, Chabad of Cleveland) but we were happy to see the adorable, adoptable City Dogs who are a highlight of any Cleveland parade. (Not the one pictured below; it’s someone’s pet, decked out for t he holiday).
