Thu 7/29-Sun 8/22
The Ohio Shakespeare Festival is back at its summer home at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens and it’s got the perfect show for pandemic-weary and the beautiful outdoor space it performs in: Shakespeare’s magical A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It doesn’t require intense concentration to follow the action and the characters. You can just sit back and bask in the lovely language and romantic setting.
This year it’ll be their only production at Stan Hywet (normally they do two) so it’ll have a longer run, through Sunday August 15. They perform Thursdays through Sundays each week with the gates opening at 6 for picnicking, a Greenshow performance — a little teaser that traditionally preceded a play in Shakespeare’s time — at 7:30 and the performance starting at 8.
Just for this year, seating will be reserved, not first-come first served, in order to plan for social distancing. Tickets are $30; $15 for students. Get them here.
