Thu 7/1 @ 8PM
Cleveland vocalist/harmonica player Dan Bode fronted the bluesy/funky rock band Moko Bovo for nearly a decade in the late 80s/early 90s before Bode moved away. Then he moved back and about ten years ago, he got some of the old gang back together — guitarist Al Moses and bassist Rick Kodramaz — and got things started up again. Then he left town again and came back last year and started jamming with the guys again.
The result was a pandemic project called An Isolated Few and an album called How I Spent My 2020 Summer Vacation ,for which they’re having a release party at the Beachland Ballroom. Moko Bovo (Bode, Moses and Kodramaz, along with drummer John Stebal) will close the night with a short set of new tunes. In addition to the Moko Bovo members, he’s promising some guest musicians including Leo Coach, Kevin T Richards, Nick Marino, Bill Meyer and Greg Huber, most of whom played on the album.
Doors are at 7; show starts at 8. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 day of show.
