The Lake and the Towpath Trail are connected!

On Thursday June 24 at 11am, the Cleveland Metroparks will make it official and open the Wendy Park Bridge and Whiskey Island Connector that joins the Cleveland Foundation Centennial Lake Link Trail to Wendy Park on Whiskey Island and Lake Erie.

The Whiskey Island Connector joins the new Wendy Park Bridge (pictured) with Edgewater Park just to the West along Lake Erie’s shore, through which runs the Cleveland Lakefront Bikeway.

Area residents and visitors from around the world can now enjoy four miles of trails along the Lake, and can now walk, bike and run from the Coast Guard Station all the way to the Towpath Trail, through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, into Akron and Summit, Stark and Tuscawarus Counties, currently terminating 85 miles South at Canal Lands Park in Zoar, Ohio.

To share in the celebration, park at the Wendy Park parking lot off of Whiskey Island Drive.
